I'll dominate 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to break his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Interaction
Despite such comments, a composed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a fight offer.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning massive financial rewards.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters met for the traditional stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually going ahead.
