Juventus Bring In Former Italian National Team Manager Luciano Spalletti

The Serie A powerhouse have chosen previous Azzurri boss Spalletti as their manager until the end of the season.

The 66-year-old steps in for the Croatian manager, who was dismissed following the loss to Lazio last weekend.

The former boss came on board in March as Thiago Motta's replacement but departed after seven months following a string of eight matches without a victory.

Spalletti guided Napoli to the Serie A crown in 2022-23 before taking charge of Italy, which missed out on the 2022 World Cup under former boss Roberto Mancini.

He helped them qualify for Euro 2024 but were eliminated in the round of 16 by Switzerland.

Yet, the Italian FA let Spalletti go in June after a World Cup qualifying defeat by Norway, with the Azzurri at risk of missing out on a third consecutive World Cup.

Spalletti's managerial career includes Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Serie A and won the Russian Premier League twice with Zenit St Petersburg.

Massimo Brambilla took interim charge of Juventus for their 3-1 win against Udinese on Wednesday which left them seventh in Serie A - six points behind leaders Napoli after nine games.

They are 25th in the league phase of the Champions League, with one loss and two draws in their first three games.
